EDIT YOUR CLOSET.

1.) Edit your closet each Fall and Spring.
This is a piece of advice most fashion-forward (and shopping happy) people are quick to dole out, but who actually does this? You can! When the weather starts to change, take a look at what you have for the season ahead. What do you need? Is there anything you have no interest in wearing this season?

Be honest. It's easy to keep that nubby Pringle of Scotland sweater around, but if you never wear it, let it go. We've gathered several great Fall-ready pieces for you, which you can check out here.

2.) If you haven’t worn it in a year, it’s time to sell, swap, or donate.
This is one of our favorite rules, and an easy one to implement. Par example, user Sarankaba bought a to-die-for Hervé Léger dress for her birthday one year, and hasn't worn it since. Now, she's ready for someone else to enjoy the sexy dress. At I-ELLA, you can make some extra money off a piece you've loved and are ready to let go of, and who wouldn't want that?

3.) If it doesn’t fit, let someone else benefit.
Who among us hasn't bought something in the heat of the moment only to realize it doesn't fit properly? That jacket that looked so stunning on the hanger only moments ago, now reeks of eau de ill-advised. One of FEED Project's Ellen Gustafson's prettiest pair of shoes was an impulse buy for a wedding, but they're simply too big. If you can't wear it, why keep it? As Gustafson puts it, "When you put it on, does it make you want to wear it immediately? Is it great enough to wear on a first date?" If you don't feel like a million bucks, don't keep it.

4.) Invest in the basics. Good quality basics that is.
You don't need bells, whistles, and a boat load of accessories to look fabulous. But what you do need are great quality pieces that will last you more than a season. Mary Alice Stephenson's classic Marc Jacobs bag is a perfect example. So too are I-ELLA's elegant Miu Miu wallets and basic but luxe Proenza Schouler and Helmut Lang tanks and tees. Forget fast fashion, you'll save money in the long run if you aren't forced to buy the same things over and over again.

5.) When you share your closet at I-ELLA.com, you’re really giving back.

I-ELLA isn't just about shopping. Ten percent of every transaction fee goes to charity, and as founder Ella Gorgla wonders, "What if every company did that? whart would our world look like?" We're leading the way with our partnerships with Keep a Child Alive, H.E.L.P., and The Greater New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure®. Every time you shop with us you give back, no matter how large or small the purchase. Shopping can lead to social change, and I-ELLA is proud to make this a reality.
